What is a Water Pump?
A water pump is crucial in a car engine, circulating coolant through the engine block, hoses, and radiator to maintain the optimal operating temperature. Driven by a serpentine belt that transfers power from the crankshaft pulley, the water pump uses impeller blades and centrifugal force to propel cooled water into the engine's water jacket. This water jacket surrounds the engine's cylinders, where combustion occurs.
